Taxis, Remises, and Apps at Aeroparque

Leaving Aeroparque can become the final challenge of your trip. The choice between a taxi, a remise, or a ride-sharing app has improved, but it remains a matter of strategy. Here, we break down the reality of each option, with their new advantages and the points that still require your attention.

❓ Frequently Asked Questions about Transportation

  • 🚕 What is the safest way to take a taxi? Go to the official taxi stand in front of McDonald's in domestic arrivals and use the QR code ticket system to get a fixed, regulated fare.
  • 💰 How do I avoid getting scammed on the price? Exclusively use the QR ticket system. If a taxi driver offers you a "negotiated" price outside the official line, it's a red flag. The recommendation is to ignore it.
  • 📱 Where do I find my Uber or Cabify? The experience has radically improved. To find your Uber, you must exit the arrivals terminal and follow the external signs to the South Parking Lot. The app will guide you on the way.
  • 🚐 What about shuttles like Tienda León? They are an option for long-distance transfers (to Ezeiza or La Plata), but their service is inconsistent. Users report everything from good experiences to delays, poor treatment, and lack of cleanliness.
  • 🚌 Can I use public transport (city bus)? Yes, it's the cheapest option, but it's very impractical if you're traveling with luggage. The stops are not clearly marked for tourists, and the buses can be very crowded.

⚠️ Critical Points to Keep in Mind

  • The taxi "free-for-all" persists. Upon exiting, you will very likely be approached by a horde of drivers insistently offering their services. Although the conflict situation has eased, the practice continues.

Strategy: The golden rule is simple: ignore them all. Go straight to the official QR taxi stand or head outside the terminal towards the app pickup points. Do not engage in conversation.

  • Uber and Cabify: now a possible and organized mission. The main problem with the apps has been solved. You no longer have to wander around; there are official, signposted pickup points that have brought order to the chaos.

Strategy: When you request your ride, exit the arrivals terminal and follow the external signage. For Uber, the key landmark is the South Parking Lot (Estacionamiento Sur). The signs and the app will guide you.

  • The QR system is your only lifeline in a taxi. The only method that guarantees you a fair and surprise-free fare is the QR code ticket system from the City Government.

Strategy: Always use it. It's the only way to prevent the driver from "forgetting" to turn on the meter or taking a "scenic" route. If the system isn't working or a driver refuses, find another vehicle.

  • Vehicular chaos for private pickups. If a family member or friend is picking you up, warn them that the arrivals area is chaotic. It's nearly impossible to stop, and transit police constantly rush cars along.

Strategy: The most practical approach is to arrange a meeting point in the parking lot or at one of the more distant cafes to avoid stress and fines.

🚕 Official Taxis

Leaving the airport: The stands are located in the domestic arrivals area, opposite McDonald's. The lines are usually organized, but during peak hours, the wait can be long. There, you will find a QR code to scan and create your ticket online from your mobile phone. In the system, you must enter your destination, number of passengers, and amount of luggage. This will determine a fixed fare. When you get into the vehicle, you must show the generated ticket, and the driver will take you to your destination without using the taximeter.

Payment is made directly to the driver. If you need assistance, you can ask the city staff present in the line for help, or go to the airport information desk.

Arriving at the airport: Taxis can drop off passengers in the departures area, near the main entrance, which is convenient for those with luggage.

🗣️ User Experience: The perception is twofold. On one hand, the fixed-fare QR system is highly valued because it offers security and transparency, eliminating the risk of scams. However, outside of this system, the experience is negative. Many travelers report the existence of a "taxi mafia" with drivers who try to charge excessive fares and constant harassment upon leaving the terminal.

📱 Apps (Uber and Cabify)

The experience with apps is now reliable and orderly thanks to the implementation of official pickup points. While the pre-defined fare is valued, the main logistical problem has now been solved. Coordinating a pickup is no longer a nightmare.

Cabify

Available at Aeroparque in both the domestic and international arrivals areas. Follow these steps to meet your driver:

Domestic Arrivals - Upon exiting the terminal, head to the exit located next to the Tostado Café Club. Once outside, cross the lane and go to the "remises" stand.

International Arrivals - Exit through the main door and walk to your right to stand C1.

Uber

Open the app to request a ride - Once you're ready, open the Uber app and choose a ride option that fits your space needs.

Exit the terminal and follow the signs to the South Parking Lot - Once outside the arrivals building, you will see signs directing you to the official pickup point. The key location is the South Parking Lot (Estacionamiento Sur) at Aeroparque. The app will supplement the signage with a map to guide you.

Meet your driver - Go to the specified meeting point. There you will see the bays designated for the app's vehicles. As always, verify that the driver's name, license plate, and car color match the information in the app before getting in.

🗣️ User Experience: The experience with apps has shifted from mostly negative to overwhelmingly positive. The implementation of a centralized, signposted pickup point at the South Parking Lot has solved coordination problems and cancellations. Users now value the convenience and the pre-defined fare, making the apps a reliable and competitive alternative to taxis.

🗣️ User Experience: Opinions on shuttles like Tienda León or Neo Traslados are very mixed. Some passengers value the service as an economical and direct option for long-distance transfers (to Ezeiza or La Plata). However, others report serious issues: lack of punctuality, buses not adhering to published schedules, poor treatment by staff, and unclean vehicles. It's an option to consider, but be aware of the risks.

💡 The Smart Traveler's Manual

  1. Choose official taxis at the airport: For maximum security and clear fares, head to the official stand and use the QR code ticket system.
  2. For Uber and Cabify, follow the external signs: There's no longer a need to guess. Exit the terminal and follow the directions in the app and the airport signage that will guide you to the designated pickup point (mainly the South Parking Lot).
  3. Check fares and transport options: Evaluate the costs of each option, especially if you are traveling with several people or a lot of luggage. Apps like Uber and Cabify offer a fare estimate before the trip.
  4. Allow extra time during peak hours: Although the system is more organized, vehicle availability may be limited during high-demand times, leading to waits.
